17.5 From reports to local models

Democritus-style extraction, categorical databases, sheaf compatibility, infinitesimal causality, and latent-confounded discovery provide components for assembling source-bearing local models into an extensible declaration.

CLIC receives these local models with provenance intact. Sheaf disagreement or Lie-bracket nonclosure localizes a possible gap, but neither certifies a latent mechanism. OPTIC may construct a new normalization, entity-resolution, retrieval, or simulation skill to test whether the obstruction was introduced by the evidence pipeline. RELIC chooses the next source, database query, model comparison, or requested experiment according to expected discrimination and cost. This loop guards against interpreting extraction error as scientific discovery.

The joint theory store is intentionally plural. Incompatible dosage regimes, populations, measurement definitions, or mechanistic assumptions remain local until a justified transport map is supplied. The purpose of synthesis is not to erase disagreement but to make its location and experimental consequences queryable.
