21.1 The declaration card

Every system begins with a declaration card containing:

  1. the learning sketch and its intended factorization;

  2. the base and tangent obstruction objects;

  3. the observation maps used for measurement;

  4. the decision quotient;

  5. the localization cover and its completeness claim;

  6. the allowed repair language;

  7. the admission blocks;

  8. the abstention conditions;

  9. the certificate emitted after a decision;

  10. the structural level at which each repair acts; and

  11. the non-target obligations that every repair must preserve.

Design principle

If an application cannot fill out the declaration card before optimization, its residual has not yet been given enough structure to function as a LINCS learning signal.
